Judgment Day vs The New Day

Raw 06.11.2023 post image 2

In a first-time matchup tonight, the tag team champions, Judgment Day, took on the formidable duo from The New Day, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. The rivalry sparked last week during the Halloween episode when The New Day playfully cosplayed as Judgment Day, a move that seemed to irk the champions and set the stage for this anticipated match.

Recent loss of Damian Priest on PLE, The New Day appeared to have a solid chance at victory. Their trademark teamwork was on full display, capitalizing on any mistakes made by the champions. At one point, Damian inadvertently struck Finn, creating a tense moment that nearly cost Judgment Day the match.

However, in a thrilling turn of events, Damian Priest sent Kofi Kingston crashing through the commentator's table. Seizing the opportunity, Judgment Day executed a flawless combination of the South of Heaven and Coup de Grace on Xavier Woods, securing the victory. Notably, Finn and Damian secured the win entirely on their own, without any interference. It was a commendable performance by the champions, showcasing their resilience and teamwork. Great job, champs!

A Japanese showdown awaited fans as the star of show Main Event Akira Tozawa faces the cunning mastermind, Shinsuke Nakamura. Realistically, Tozawa faced an uphill battle against Nakamura, who currently seems to be at the peak of his abilities since his debut. Despite the odds, the match was short but delivered solid pacing and several memorable moments

The turning point occurred when Tozawa attempted a third-rope Senton jump, landing directly onto Shinsuke's knees. Seizing the opportunity, Nakamura swiftly followed up with the Kinshasa to secure the victory.

In the aftermath, Otis confronted Shinsuke, setting the stage for a potential match against the next Alpha Academy member in the upcoming week. The storyline promises an intriguing continuation, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter.

A colossal match unfolded to determine the next contender for one of the most prestigious titles in the modern era. "Big" Bronson Reed, Ivar, The Miz, and Ricochet clashed in a battle for the right to face Gunther. Ivar, the dark horse in the match, had been dominating his opponents in recent months. Meanwhile, the other competitors had either suffered losses to the Ring General or were simply not at his level.

Expectations were high for a victory from Reed or Ivar, given their recent performances. However, fate had its own plans. Ricochet, known for his incredible athleticism and daring maneuvers, showcased his talents once again. With breathtaking jumps and innovative moves, he seemed to be everywhere in the ring, proving himself as a man of immense talent.

The Miz, sticking to his usual strategy of avoiding direct confrontations, strategically pinned Bronson Reed in the end to secure the victory. The Miz is now the number one contender, leaving fans intrigued about what he can bring to the table against the formidable Gunther in what promises to be an exciting matchup.

The match unfolded with intense physicality as both teams showcased their signature moves. Notably, Julius Creed displayed remarkable resilience, kicking out of Tommaso's Fairytale Ending. As DIY geared up for their iconic Meeting in the Middle, Ludwig Kaiser intervened with a precise Inzegiri to Johnny's head. Raw 06.11.2023 post image 6

An intriguing battle royal unfolded, featuring a lineup of young and talented women vying for the coveted number one contender spot for the Women's World Title. The match kicked off with a memorable sneak attack as Xia Li targeted Becky Lynch, executing a high kick that took Lynch out. Unfortunately for Li, Adam Pearce intervened and banned her from the match.

The favorites heading into the battle royal were Raquel Rodriguez and Nia Jax, but personal favorites included Ivy Nile and Zoey Stark. The first elimination came when Nick Cross was eliminated, displaying unusual behavior.

Nia Jax fell victim to the united efforts of the remaining women, but post-match, she pulled Ivy Nile from ringside, leaving me disheartened. The final showdown featured Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, with Zoey proving a bit luckier. After a decisive DDT on the ring apron, Baszler was eliminated, making Zoey Stark the deserving number one contender. Great ending of Battle Royal.

In a clash between two of the most talented and beloved superstars of the moment, Seth "Freakin" Rollins squared off against Sami Zayn for the World Heavyweight Title. Despite giving consideration to the possibility of Zayn securing a win, the anticipation was high for potential interferences.

Having faced each other three times before, Seth Rollins held the lead in their encounters. The match unfolded as a classic showdown, featuring numerous impactful spots, technical prowess, and minimal pauses. Zayn came remarkably close to victory, executing a Boston Crab, but Rollins rolled up and securing the pin for the three counts.

A significant disappointment for Sami Zayn, as Rollins retained his championship. Nevertheless, Zayn displayed sportsmanship by showing his respect to the reigning champion after the hard-fought battle.

In the aftermath of a match, The Judgment Day launched an attack on Sami Zayn. The World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, rushed to Zayn's aid, but the numbers weren't in their favor. Enter Jey Uso, who sprinted into the fray, successfully fending off three members of the opposing group. The chaos escalated further when Cody Rhodes rushed to the aid of his brothers. The tumult around the ring prompted Adam Pearce and security to intervene, desperately trying to separate the warring factions. In a heated moment, Pearce exclaimed:

"Enough! I am so sick and tired of your games every week. You want to play? You too!? Let's play! We will settle this in Chicago at Survivor Series in War Games!"

The announcement set the stage for an intense showdown at Survivor Series, promising a WarGames match that would undoubtedly be a highlight of the event.

It's time to break down the rankings for this week's Raw episode, and I must say, it was an enjoyable show. From great matches to the major announcement of WarGames, it kept us hooked throughout.
